Gangs of Lagos

Nigeria’s former capital is a city of contradictions. It is a bustling, vibrant city, that contains the lion’s share of the country’s economy. It is also beset by crime, carried out by gangs. This video attempts to present a bird’s eye view of some of the more notorious gangs in Lagos.

Obi Asika once told me the following, “All global cities have gangs, we deny our own in Nigeria but every city on the planet has organised crime and in some cities like New York, you can’t even work without them.”
