Quick one on our New Year present

I think what happened to Itunu Babalola should be quite clear to everyone now. She got zero help from the people who are paid with money extracted from you and me, the Nigerian taxpayer.

In fact, what is more than likely, is that her people were told to fuck off when they tried to lay complaints about what was happening to her. For those at the back, telling someone to fuck off doesn’t always have to be verbal.

Now, what happened to Modupe Odele yesterday was beyond the pale. Whether she is obnoxious, pungent or unstable does not matter. What matters is that she carries a green passport, and as a government official, duty demands that you respond. But what did we get?

Government officials and supporters coming on a social media platform that remains banned in the country to gloat and manufacture stories about her situation. Of course, they don’t engage their brains, so are incapable of thinking through the consequences of their actions.

Their despicable actions will further entrench anti-Nigerian behaviour by foreigners, simply because said foreigners have the certain knowledge that the Nigerian is an orphan. This has been our 2022 New Year present from the Buhari Administration: entrenching the idea that you and I, are orphans, and if we get into trouble outside the shores of Nigeria, anything wey we see, make we take am like that.
