Quick one on that tweet
Many people have quoted this tweet in the light of yesterday’s tragedy. I think it’s important to tell the story behind the tweet.
My last trip to Kaduna was around that day and headed back to Abuja, I got to the station (no need to tell the story of how I got my ticket) and as we were waiting for the train, this very handsome man walked was driven in with a mobile police escort. He had two beautiful wives, and I’m not ashamed to admit that I gawked at them openly. They were that pretty.
Anyway, the Mopol dropped them and their luggage and left. We waited a while at the station, and eventually, the train began the journey to Abuja (late of course).
What hit me was when we got to Idu. The very mobile policemen who had dropped this geezer and his angels in Kaduna were waiting for them at Idu. There was no way I could miss the interesting scar on the face of one of the policemen.
This incident got me thinking: “if these guys are this willing to let their ‘security’ go through that road, it shows that to them, the security men are dispensable.”
Did it not occur to them that the bandits/kidnappers/terrorists would figure this out?
Hence that tweet.
As you were…
